Starting your own Business – Online Event

Shipley College is working with Airedale Enterprise to offer 4 FREE online workshops for people who want to start their own business.

• The first session will run on the 13th, 15th, 20th, 22nd October 1pm-3pm. 
• Second session will run on the 20th, 22nd, 27th, 29th October 1pm-3pm.
• Third session will run on the 27th, 29th October & 3rd, 5th November 1pm-3pm.

They cover how to set up your own business and how to promote the business through digital marketing.

• Setting up a business account
• Business insurance
• Benefits of being self-employed
• Disadvantages of being self-employed

Session 2

• Keeping records and tax returns
• Allowable expenses – travel, utilities, bills
• Calculating your tax liability, personal allowance, basic rate tax
• Introduction to bookkeeping
• National insurance, VAT

Session 3

• Getting your business online
• Digital marketing strategies
• Website options free or paid
• Search engine optimisation
• Email campaigns

Session 4

• Getting your business online
• Publish, integrate and boost posts on your Facebook account
• Publish, integrate and boost post on your Instagram account
• Online store / Sales Options
