Delivered online

  • 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
  • £220

Next online courses will take place on:

7th, 8th, 14th, 15th October – 10:00am – 12:30pm

The course

The MHFA England course has been restructured to lend itself to be delivered online, via an online platform. Rather than 2 full days on a virtual session (which wouldn’t be good for anyones wellbeing) it is split into manageable chunks. There is a combination of both live virtual classroom sessions as well as self learning via a portal. Delegates will receive a manual, workbook, action plan and certificate exactly as they would in the face to face training. This will be posted out directly to the delegate at no cost to them. This ensures anyone whether working from home, back in the workplace, or furloughed are all able to access the materials they need. They can be posted to an address of the delegates choice.

What to expect

There are 4 x live sessions which are interactive with a combination of self reflection, group work and various exercises and film clips. The longest of these sessions is 2.5 hours. There is pre work ahead of each of the live sessions which is accessed via the online portal and can be done at any time to suit the delegate, it just needs to be completed ahead of the live session. Jennifer will be available for delegate queries if they come up through the self learning.
Topics covered:
  • About Mental Health (Including, stigma, what influences our mental health and recovery)
  • The impact of stress
  • Depression
  • Suicide (including first aid for suicidal crisis)
  • Substance misuse
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Self-harm
  • Eating disorders
  • Personality disorders
  • Psychosis
  • Building a mentally healthy community

Throughout the topics we will demonstrate the first aid model in action through case studies, along with different skills exercises on topics such as non-judgemental listening.

The outcome

Testimonial

“Jen delivered Mental Health First Aid training at our offices for around 16 members of the Omnicell team. I can’t recommend her enough. The two days of training were insightful, informative and thought provoking and Jen’s direct, honest and straight forward approach won the hearts and mind of everyone in the room. We are looking forward to putting into practice everything Jen has taught us as part of our commitment to create a supportive and caring working environment.”
